Ormer Bowl II

With end of our season fast approaching, it’s time to properly announce the return of our beach tournament/social AKA The Ormer Bowl!

In a similar format to last year, teams be a mixture of players from various league teams (as well as any newcomers who would like to come along to sample the sport in a more casual environment).

Anyone is welcome, so there’s no need to worry if you have no prior experience playing any form of American Football.

For those who have played in our league structure, here’s a quick reminder of the differences for the rules for beach football:

Pitch Size – 22 yards long x 24 yards wide / 10 yard end zones / 5 yard no run zones / no 1st down line – So four downs to score or the ball gets turned over!

Game Time – 15 minutes

Team Numbers – 4 VS 4 (max 6 players per team)

Lineups (OFF) – Centre / Quaterback / 2 x Skill Positions

Lineups (DEF) – Pass Rush is Allowed

Laterals – Only Allowed Behind the LOS (Flea Flicker etc)

Other Rules – All other game rules as used in the normal league structure will apply. We will of course explain things to anyone who is new, so don’t be put off if you don’t know all the rules…some of our players still don’t know them!

Just to give us an idea of likely attendees, please drop by our Facebook Event and also invite anyone you think may want to come along! Even if you don’t want to play, you are more than welcome to come down and see what it’s all about.

We’ll also have Flag American Football related activities for youngsters and should any spectators get peckish, hot food will be available from the nearby Vistas.

If all of that hasn’t sold you, perhaps a few photos from our gallery of last year’s event may sway you to come check it out:

If you want to see some more, the rest of our gallery can be found here

Hope to see as many of you as possible on the 2nd!
