WEEK 9 2017: GAME REPORTS, STATS AND VIDEO

Game Reports:

Knights vs Razorbacks

The Knights came into this game looking to bounce back from a tough loss in overtime the week before against top of the table Reapers and solidify themselves as the 2nd seed in the playoffs. The Razorbacks on the other hand desperately needing a win to guarantee a playoff spot. Not wanting to leave the outcome down to the final week and potentially other results.

The Razorbacks would start on offence and with a long pass to Mikey, take an early 6 point lead. The Knights would rally behind quarterback Matt Jackson who had been forced to take over from Jordy Gallienne, for the past few weeks, due to injury and quickly respond with a sensational run by Jamie Jenner to tie up the game.

With 2 quick scores it looked as though this would be a tight offensive dominant game! The Knights had other thoughts however! Behind an outstanding performance from Jamie Jenner who recorded 2 sacks on the day and constantly pressured Razorbacks quarterback Dan Guilbert, the Knights would shut the Razorbacks for the rest of the game.

Offensively for the Knights, James Hollis would turn out to be a favourite target for Matt and pull in 3 touchdowns on the day.

This game would end 33-6 to the Knights and clinch the top two seeds for the Reapers and Knights. This would however leave huge questions in the final week of the regular season as 3 teams battle it out for the remaining 2 spots.

Mustangs vs Terrapins

This game was a hot fixture, the Terrapins on a downward slide met the Mustangs coming off their first win of the season. Both teams came into the game with a point to prove.

The first half was a defensive stalemate, both team scored relatively early with Callum Hockey and Josh Smale scoring for the Terrapins and Mustangs respectively. With Callum managing to add a second TD just before half time, the score at the half was 13-6.

The second half managed to open up a little more and both teams managed to move the ball a little more consistently. The Mustangs scored a rushing TD courtesy of Josh Kins to bring the teams a point away from level.

The Terrapins then managed to capitalise on turnovers and a third TD for Callum Hockey as well as another one from Matt Holmes pushed the Terrapins to a 27-12 win.

Raptors vs Reapers

This game was postponed and will be played at a later date.
