Terrapins Vs Razorbacks: Week 3

This game marked the first game that the Razorbacks would play in a series of three games over the course of five days, as the recent weather issues to the scheduling forced teams into playing catchup on the season schedule.

Terrapins first drive was one dominated by their running attack, with Kieran Ashworth carrying the ball over for the score. The resulting extra point attempt was tackled just short of the line, the score 6-0.

The Razorbacks, hoping to continue the momentum the ended their game last time with, ran the ball on their first two plays with Lucas Robson, followed by two incomplete passes that resulted in a turnover on downs.

The Terrapins second drive was pressured by the pass rush from Josh Smale and the overall pass coverage on the first three plays, but a short pass to Iaan Erasmus was converted into a first down, keeping their drive alive. Just when it looked like they might convert their new set of downs into points, a bobbled pitch was grabbed by Josh and returned for the touchdown. The following extra point was tipped and then picked off by Kieran , tying the game at 6-6.

On the Terrapins next drive, they began by going back to the run game, unafraid of the chances of another turnover, converting for a first down on two plays. The following fake on the next play gave Callum Hockey enough room to haul in a deep pass from Nick Gaudion for the touchdown.The extra point attempt was again, just short of the mark. 12-6.

Razorbacks again started with a couple of strong plays which found them just short of the halfway line on fourth down. A deep pass led James Williams too far, causing a turnover on downs.

Terrapins after a short pass found more points from their run game, this time from Ben Saul, who weaved his way through would be tacklers. Bringing the score to 18-6. The following 2 point conversion attempt found Callum in the front of the endzone for the catch, bringing the score to 20-6.

Razorbacks following drive found itself stalling once again for the first down line at halfway. Terrapins in the final couple of minutes of the half moved quickly to setup each play, but after and incomplete deep pass on third down, they elected to let the clock run to the half.

In their first game, the Razorbacks found their rhythm in the second half and would be hoping for the same this tine around as they started the second half with possesion.Two short plays, followed by a pass and run to Josh brough them within two yards on the halfway line. A deep pass to Sam Loveridge again went too far and resulted in a turnover on downs.

The Terrapins next drive was led by their rushing attack until fourth down, inside the no rush zone, using a short pass to Iaan to convert for the first down.Following the conversion, the Terrapins’ rushing attack resumed, before another pass to a rolling out Iaan to close in on the five yard line. Unfortunately a delay of game penalty killed what been a promising drive, by forcing the Terrapins backwards.The longer pass was picked off by Wills, turning the ball over, keeping the score at 20-6.

Razorbacks once again move the ball towards the first down line at halfway, but a sack in third down by Luca Finetti forced them into a longer fourth down. And unlucky drop on fourth down once again caused a turnover on downs.

Once again, Terrapins moved the ball quickly on first down with their rushing attack, before an incomplete pass on second down. A short pass to Iaan on third down was taken all the way to the endzone, making the score 26 – 6. The extra point attempt again went incomplete.

Razorbacks drive started positively with a long run from Lucas to within the five yards of halfway. An unlucky drop followed by an overthrown pass setup fourth down. The final pass was picked off by Luca, turning the ball over.

Not content to sit on their lead, Terrapins once again looked to move the ball efficiently on first and second down passes, converting for the first.A bullet pass from Nick was bobbled, but hauled in by Callum in the endzone for another score. The 2 point conversion attempt fell incomplete, score now 32 -6.

The Razorbacks next drive unfortunately started off with a fumble, but was followed up by another good run. The following two passes fell incomplete, turning the ball over for one last time, however the was not enough time for the Terrapins to run another play, with the final score being 32 – 6.

It was the second win of the season for the Terrapins, while the Razorbacks were left waiting to pick up their first win.
